They are always there, these special personalities who impresses on a rally-raid. Any question:"Was is a tough etappe? Were the dunes very high? Is the night very cold? Or the sun very hot today?" were always answered with a short: NO I AM ENGLISH. that is the attitude of a sportsman to pass a rally in Libya succesfully. This great country demands everything from a pilot and his co. After the overall victory the winner was honoured with the name LADY LIZ MILLET. She and her KTM are an awesome team. Generally the ladies at the side of the male driveres did a great job. All were honoured by the silver symbol of the Libya-Rally-Raid, having conquered the cathedral dunes of the Ubari sand range. How strong the fight was could be seen at the fact that nearly every day another team could manage to hit the winner list. In spite of the battlesome engagement the fairness was not forgotten. This makes me really happy. Time credits for helping other participants in misery have been proven oneself. The Orga, for years in this sport, completed their aims perfectly with the known routine. However there were two newcomer teams, who should be extra mentioned. First Race management and timekeeping. Tobias Witt and Torsten Roetzel. One week before start of the rally they had to compensate the outfall of the race director Marco Bölling. This succeeded in a impressive manner. Second the Saurer-Team. For the first time beeing the Camion Balai they showed an impressive performance. No stage was to tough for these truck professionells. They were ready for action at any time of the day. All vehicles destroyed in the race had reached the port of Genova. CONGRATULATION The participants of the Libya-Rally-Raid Teilnehmer came from seven nations and composed a harmonious whole. It is easy to provide a good event with such people. For tis my explicit tahnks. But there was one question I could not answer. "Tell me Wolfgang, when I´ll be asked at home about the landscape, how for God´s sake shall I discribe this beauty of Libya?" Perhaps a suggestion: they should participate the Libya-Rally-Raid 2010 and glaze at the miracles of nature with their own eyes. With thanksfulness and sportive compliments Wolfgang Pasetti
